Third times the charm.

Today was a very momentous day. Soaking in the rays of the Hawaii sun with Erica and talking about what the future holds for us...what more could I want? Well, the one thing on my mind was "Can I just know what I'm doing with my life next year? Is that too much to ask?" As I'm sure you all know, I've been trying to get into BYU provo for a while. I have actually been denied twice already. So I've been thinking a lot about what I'm supposed to be doing. Should I stay here? Go to ASU or UA? I really had no idea. I've had the BYU Admission Status page pulled up on my phone for a while and I refresh it like every hour to see if anything changes. Day after day, all it said was "complete". It started to drive me crazy! I really wasn't expecting to get in at all...but I did! In fact, I was more leaning towards staying here in Hawaii and graduating. I honestly would have no problem with that! I LOVE it here. But I think that I only like the Hawaii aspect of being here. I mean, who wouldn't?! When I start to think about why I like it here so much, I started to realize that the school itself isn't as amazing as I thought it was because all I was thinking about was the beach. I don't fee like I would get a full college experience here if I ended up graduating from here. Here's why I think this...we don't have any big sports teams, no night life, not much dating either. There are a lot of things that you are supposed to experience in college that you just don't get here. Im so stuck on what I am supposed to do. I love both places, it's just decided what I want more and think is best for me....which I feel like might end up being Utah, but what kind of crazy person would want to leave hawaii?! Im so confused! Its tough. Im trying to listen to everyones opinions and decide what I should do but its so hard to pick! We'll see where life takes me. Im just happy to know that I have accomplished getting in. I've been working so hard to get in and I finally did. I definitely have more confidence in what I am capable of doing and achieving now.

Gross.

A very disturbing thing happened today. And I decided that Im going to just blog on specific things that happened all the time then have to remember everything that happened in one week. So last night, this nasty bug was flying around my head and it was really bothering me so I smashed it with a piece of paper. I got up to do something and left the paper on my desk...gross I know. When I got back, I completely forgot that there was a nasty smashed flying creature sitting on my desk and I went to bed. I didn't remember this bug until now, 14 hours later, when I got home from class. The bug is pretty much gone, however there are a million ants where I left the bug. I am a little disturbed and grossed out.

Aloha/Mahalo/Shaka overdose.

So I started working at the Polynesian Cultural Center as a waitress almost 2 weeks ago. It has been great and I got my first paycheck today! I love my job. You meet some of the craziest people. Can I first point out that practically everyone I work with is like 4' 11''? Not that I don't tower over people as is, Im a freaking skyscraper in this restaurant. Its ridiculous. Ok, so today was probably the best/easiest day since I started! Before I get started with my story, I thought I would take a quick picture of as much of my uniform as I could get...just so you have an idea of what I look like. Im sure I will get some better ones throughout the semester but this is what I've got right now. Ok, so my boss, Auntie Vonnie, said that I've been working hard so she gave me the job of being a seater. There are multiple seaters and all we do is say Aloha a thousand times and throw up the shaka and then show the guests their seats. When everyone starts to leave we say Mahalo a thousand times and throw up the shaka again. Its the best job ever, especially when you get truly exceptional people coming through thinking that the rock and roll sign and the shaka are the same thing. It was priceless. And another great moment was when this asian woman wanted to take a picture with me so, naturally, I smiled and threw up yet another shaka. This woman puts up two peace signs and the biggest smile you could ever imagine on a very tiny body. Classic. It made my night. I love asian people and I love my job.

Practically Suicide.

On tuesday and wednesday there was a full moon! In celebration, a friend invited me to go cliff jumping off the point! Little did I know, shark attacks occur most when theres a full moon. Yeah, I didn't know that until two days after. I was basically putting myself in a suicidal position, without the suicidal intentions. I had never jumped the point before, and doing it at night was very brave on my part because, well its night...so it's very dark (except the full moon helped a lot), and the waves are giant. I jumped anyway. I love the rush of excitement that I get when I cliff jump. It doesn't last very long but its so fun! This picture isn't of me, but I wanted to give you an idea of what it looked like! We actually went two nights in a row, but I only jumped the first night. The second night was a bit windier and the moon was behind clouds so it wasn't very bright. I just didn't have a very good feeling about it, so who knooows what would have happened had I jumped. It a gorgeous view though, even if you don't jump.

During the day is prime time for the beach...obviously. I spent a lot of time at the beach this week. I only have classes on tuesday and thursday so I went like every other day. This is me and Karla, she's from Chile. I love this girl to death. Me, her, and the three girls girls in this other picture hitchhiked to Sunset Beach on North Shore, then went to Ted's Bakery and
then came back to a beach closer to campus to just hang out and take pictures...the ones you see here! This is temple beach. There are three beaches within close walking distance of school...hukilau, temple, and bikini. Temple, the one we are at in these pictures, is my favorite
of the three. Hawaii beaches have practically ruined every other beach for me but thats ok haha but I guess as long as i'm at a beach in be ok!

So I have 8:00 church...yeah not so good. I slept over in my friend Emma's room the night before and accidentally slept through most of my ward. We like to call it a mental health day in the Theobald home. However, I ended up going to her ward that met at 12:00 but I only went to her sacrament meeting which was at 2. After church me and some friends walked over to the temple. We went to the visitors center and walked around for a bit and then watched the Joseph Smith movie...sooo good. We took some pictures (I'll have to post them later because I don't them right now) and then came back to eat dinner and hang out in the Hale's. Actually, I lied. After dinner we went to a fireside. Can you guess what it was on? Correct. Marriage and dating. Shocker. This fireside was actually pretty funny though. One of my favorite quotes was of this lady when she was introducing her husband who was the speaker. She said, "You never know who you've got until you've been married for a long time." I thought that was pretty funny. Not that I need to be thinking about marriage AT ALL, but I thought it was a good talk. After the fireside we went back to the Hale's and played some card games and all that good stuff. It was a good day.

I love Hawaii.

and we continue...

On our way to go hot tubbing at Turtle Bay Resort in the back of a truck!

More KBLZ.

Family with the newest addition! Love them all.

She's married!

Spencer likes to abuse me.

We're so much cooler than you are.

I love skype. Enough said.

I love these girls. These are some friends I go to school with now. We all went to the night show at the Polynesian Cultural Center together and felt like taking a picture with this awesome statue.

Worlds largest water balloon fight! This picture sums up my summer at BYU. I have never had more fun in a 7 week period than I did summer term in Provo.

Erica and I went shopping several times last semester. It was bad. We are banning each other from going this semester. This is probably my favorite of all the pictures that we took on our shopping trips. These glasses were ridiculous.

Reunion of the siblings in the summer when Lindsay and I came home from BYU. We brought Spencer with us to meet the rest of the family for the first time. I love my family.

New year. New start.

Firstly, as part of my new years resolution, I am going to post something at least every Sunday. That is my goal...just so you know.

It sounds cliche saying I'm ready for a fresh new year but I really mean that. There are a lot of things that I want to accomplish this year. But as I look back at 2010...a lot of really great things happened. 18th birthday, volleyball, senior year, graduation, seminary graduation (glad that's over), summer at BYU, BYU Hawaii...probably the best thing that happened to me all year, weddings galore ( but most importantly, Lindsay's) and the most amazing Christmas with every cousin, aunt, uncle, grandma and grandpa on my moms side. I couldn't have asked for a better year and I'm looking forward to another great year with new habits. To start it off, Im still going to BYU Hawaii, I just got a job at the Gateway Buffet at the Polynesian Cultural Center, and I have the most amazing friends. Before I go off talking about this new year, I picked out some of my favorite pictures from 2010 (definitely not in order). Here they are...

So many good times with these girls, and many more to come. I love them so much. This was actually taken on my 18th birthday, which was also the 1st day of spring break AND the first day we could start eating sugar again! If you don't know what I'm talking about...we had a no sugar contest for like 4 months. We actually happen to be doing it again right now! I could write a novel about us so I need to move on.

This is just a goofy picture of me and Emily at our seminary graduation. You have no idea how happy I am that it is over.

Just a little bit of KBLZ action at GRADUATION! Best day of my life. Although I do miss some aspects of high school, college is amazing...especially in Hawaii.

More graduation with my lovely sisters! I love this, and them.

This is on top of China Man's Hat in Hawaii. It is a small island that we had to swim out to and hike to the top of. I love Hawaii.

FLOOD. The week of finals we had a craziest storm and it flooded our Hale (dorm building). A couple years ago they cancelled finals because of a flood...we weren't that lucky. This night was a lot of fun and consisted of a lot of tackling, body sliding. It was a good time.

Umm this thing is being dumb and won't let me put any more pictures up so I'm going to have to finish on another post...

Some things never change.

So I told you I would update you on my shopping trip in Waikiki but Im pretty sure that if I told you about that whole day you would be bored to death. So instead, Im just going to tell you that Erica and I took the bus to Waikiki and spent the entire day there walking the streets andshopping. It was a lot of fun. So I'm going to show you pictures instead because Im sure thats a lot more interesting and you'll get the same information!
We've actually been on a couple shopping trips together! We went this last weekend and another girl named Kahana came with us! This is us on the bus.

So basically, long story short, we love shopping. Whats new?!
